A bounty hunter pig finds himself traveling the globe with a free-spirited elephant he intends to capture.. Images of Bill the Cat from writer Berkeley Breathed’s Bloom County comic strip can be seen as one of Hitpig’s bounties and on a makeshift parachute.. Under license from Universal Music Operations Ltd.. A new animated film has hit theaters called HITPIG!. Based on a children’s book called Pete and Pickles by Berkeley Breathed, This is a story about Hitpig (Jason Sudeikis), a pig bounty hunter who returns escaped animals to their owners. From the start, the title doesn’t make sense, the pig doesn’t kill anyone like an assassin. It should probably be called something like PETE THE BOUNTY HUNTER or just PETE AND PICKLES. He’s literally called Hitpig. Moving on, he meets Pickles (Lilly Singh), the elephant who escaped the arrogant Leapin‘ Lord of the Body (Rainn Wilson). They form a bond that makes Hitpig question his career and life. This movie is good. I get that it wasn’t made with me in mind. The humor is all over the place, sometimes aimed a little lower for kids, sometimes aimed a little higher. Lots of ass jokes. The story moves at a mile a minute, sometimes literally, without letting you breathe. The characters all talk fast, yet I enjoyed hearing Hannah Gadsby as a sassy koala. The movie seems low budget and I’m actually surprised it made it to the theaters. There are some pretty good scenes about the family you choose. HYPTIC! I think it’s a good movie, but instantly forgettable and not worth spending money on unless you have a young child with ADHD who loves loud noises and bright colors.
